Attorney Megan Harris-Pero recently had an article published in the New York State Bar Association Elder and Special Needs Law Journal Spring 2024 Edition.  The article “Downstate versus Upstate: How Community Based Medicaid Differs in Terms of Access, Benefits and Challenges” discusses the importance of Community Medicaid in New York, which helps people who need daily assistance to stay in their homes or Medicaid eligible assisted living facilities. It highlights challenges like the shortage of home health workers and the complex Medicaid application process, making it hard for many to get the care they need. Experiences from caregivers and home health care administrators throughout different regions of New York are discussed.
