Estate Settlement

Estate Settlement refers to the practice of administering and settling estates and trusts after someone has passed away. The Estate Settlement process consists of four main steps:

(1) the appointment of a person (often called a fiduciary, executor or administrator) to manage the estate;

(2) the collection and management of the estate assets by the administrator;

(3) the payment of debts and estate expenses; and

(4) the distribution of the remaining assets to the beneficiaries.

At Harris-Pero Law Firm, PLLC, we work closely with your executor to ensure proper and efficient estate and trust settlements. We also work with beneficiaries to ensure their rights are protected and they receive proper distribution upon settlement.
