Meet the Team: Ruta Tomik, Office & Legal Assistant

At the Harris-Pero Law Firm, forming strong, personal connections with our clients is a top priority. We take the time to understand you, your family, your business, and your unique circumstances, allowing us to create the most effective plan tailored to your needs. Our client relationships often last for years, and we believe it’s equally important for you to get to know us. This month we are spotlighting our Office & Legal Assistant (and moral support assistant!), Ruta.

Helping Hand

What do you enjoy most about working with our firm?

What I enjoy most is listening to a client’s story, the reason they are calling, and knowing that our firm can help.

I also like the mints. 😊

Can you share a memorable experience from your community volunteering activities?

We regularly volunteer as a family at the Regional Food Bank. Being a part of a group that helps lessen food insecurities and food waste means a lot to us.

What’s your favorite thing about working with the team at the firm?

My favorite thing about working with the team is that we are a team. We are all always willing to lend a hand (or ear). The office feels positive and comfortable; I look forward to working with everyone every day.

Nature Lover

What are some of your favorite activities to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy the quiet—reading, walking, gardening, birdwatching, snowshoeing, swimming in the ocean, and immersing in the sounds of nature.

The Importance of Planning

Has working at the firm changed the way you plan for yourself and your family?

Working here has taught me the importance of a Health Care Proxy, Power of Attorney, and having that difficult conversation about life and death before life forces you to make those tough decisions without knowing your loved one’s wishes.  I see the value and need for planning for life’s transitions, and knowing this, I have become a better caregiver for both my family and my parents.
